About Us
I Never Promised You a Rose Garden is a hundred square feet of timeless paraphernalia and aching clothes.
Located in Far East Plaza, where rental prices are powered by kryptonite, the store packs beautiful things back to back. In this soil-less garden are dresses, shirts and tees with stencil prints, hand-crafted butterfly blouses, flamenco tube dresses hand-sewn with beads, jeans that look like leggings, dramatic millinery, low V-necks for men, vests with tiaras and guns, sixties skirts with floral
paintings, reversible satin scarves, and coquettish lace scarves. The city never leaves the city dweller; INPYARG’s design sense stems from the desire to be unique despite being quite inseparable from fashion’s whim.
INPYARG is a sister store of Goblin Market. Goblin Market is primed as “the factory” and will reopen in November. Goblin Market will house paintings, giclees, gocco prints, glass and ceramic works, fabric and canvas prints, and depending on the materials that fall into the factory, there will be surprise and adventure for those who drop by. The idea is to make visible some aspects of works-in-progress to the visitor, and perhaps inspire a language between the art and the patron. There is leeway to be creative despite a young arts and independent design scene in Singapore. Because there are no prerequisites, there are no rules.
Both INPYARG and Goblin Market harbor intentions; to be free in creating and bold in trials.
Art can be serious. As art can be not.
I Never Promised You a Rose Garden is located in Far East Plaza, Level 4 Room 133. The website is on the way.
Goblin Market is re-opening at a location near Katong soon.
